Project Idea: Brothers

The theme of "brothers" is a great one to explore, as it is a theme that is central to both of the epics, giving you lots of story material to work with.

Research Tip: The big decision you will want to make is whether you want to tell a story about brothers based on Ramayana material (Rama and his brothers, Ravana and his brothers, plus other brothers: the monkey brothers Sugriva and Vali, the demon brothers Vatapi and Ilwala) or on Mahabharata material (the brothers Pandu and Dhritarashtra, plus Vidura, and their sons: the Pandava brothers, plus Karna, and the Kaurava brothers, along with Krishna and his brother Balarama)... and then you would decide if you want to retell those stories, or invent your own "brother story" inspired by the Indian epic examples.
