Project Idea: Karma

Karma is a great theme to use for a story collection: every story is full of karma (action!), and when you tell a story for a karma project, that means you can closely examine the action in terms of karmic consequences: how are the events in your story a consequence of past action ... and how do the events in the story point towards future karmic consequences?

Research Tip: Start with the Wikipedia articles about Karma and the closely related idea of Samsara; you might also be interested in the articles on Rebirth and also Nirvana. Then, start thinking about Karma as you do the reading for class: whenever you see an important event, consider that event in terms of Karma and imagine how you would retell the story in your own way to bring out the Karmic theme.
