Comments: This book is a lavish retelling of the Mahabharata, rich with detail and including two of the most famous "framed" stories: Nala and Damayanti, and Savitri and Satyavan.

Length. The book is appx. 400 pages long, divided into four weeks' of reading, along with detailed Reading Guides. Click on these links for details about each part: Part A - Part B (one week of reading), Part C - Part D (another week of reading), Part E - Part F (another week), and Part G - Part H (the final week of reading).

You might also find cheap used copies at the OU Bookstore because this was a required book for the class for many years, and I believe they still have used copies that they keep in stock (not sure about that though).
