Character of the Day: SATYAVATI
SATYAVATI is the wife of King Shantanu, and the stepmother of his son Bhishma; she is also grandmother (through her son Vyasa) to both Pandu and Dhritarashtra, and thus great-grandmother to the Pandavas and Kauravas.
Mahabharata: Satyavati plays a crucial role in the opening of the Mahabharata; she did not live to see the War of Kurukshetra.
